Privacy policy

• The building checker runs in your browser. We do not store your answers unless you send a form.
• If you request quotes, we share your request with up to 3 vetted installers who serve your area. They pay us for that introduction.
• We contact you by email only, never by text message, and we never cold-call. Installers may call you only if you give a phone number and ask for calls.
• We never sell your details to marketing lists or data brokers.
• Opt out at any time on the opt-out page. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link.

• Quote requests: building name and address, building type and size, any building facts you carried over from the checker, your role, name, email, optional phone, how you want to be contacted, whether you have a citation and its deadline, your message, and the page and campaign you came from.
• Technical data: a one-way salted hash of your IP address (not the address itself), your browser type and the time of the request, used to stop spam and to prove what you agreed to.
• Consent record: the exact consent text you saw, its version and when you agreed.
• Checker answers: stay in your browser. They reach us only if you carry them into a quote request.
• Analytics: if enabled, Google Analytics and Cloudflare Web Analytics measure page visits in aggregate. Your form answers are never sent to analytics.

To check that your request is real, find the fire marshal (AHJ) for the address, match you with up to 3 vetted installers who serve your area, and email you about your request. We do not use your details for anything else.

• Installers: when you request quotes, up to 3 vetted installers who serve your area receive your request and contact details. "Vetted" means we checked their license and they agreed to our buyer terms, which forbid reselling your details and require them to stop contacting you if you opt out. If no vetted installer serves your area, we share it with nobody and delete it after 30 days.
• Service providers: Cloudflare, Inc. hosts this site and stores form submissions in a Cloudflare D1 database for us. When we send email, an email delivery service processes your address only to deliver it.
• The law: where we are legally required to.

• Quote requests: 3 years, so you and the installers can refer back to them, then deleted.
• Requests we could not match to any installer: deleted after 30 days.
• Consent records: 5 years.
• Opt-outs: a one-way hash of your email, kept so we never contact you again by mistake.

• Stop contact or sharing: use the opt-out page.
• See, correct or delete what we hold: write to us through the contact form and choose "My data or a quote request". We answer within 30 days.
• Unsubscribe: use the link in any email.

If we change this policy, we update the date above and log the change in the changelog.
